Chapter 1286 - 1301: Going to Find the Chief Police Officer
"Sir, didn't you just say we were going to brawl? How did it turn into them all ganging up on me alone?" Yang Sanyuan looked frustrated. If it were a brawl, he might have the hope to hang on until the end. But if several people were to gang up on him, he'd be done for!"I changed my mind, alright? Is that a problem? Do I need to report my decisions to you?" Lin Mu was quite displeased. This fool still seemed disobedient and needed a good beating.
Upon hearing this, Yang Sanyuan became anxious. Lin Mu clearly aimed to ruin him! But he dared not say anything. If he started swearing now, he'd probably be beaten into a pulp within seconds.
"What now? Do you guys want to see what it feels like to have a blade graze your skin?" Lin Mu smiled as he looked at the security guards.
"No, of course not!" The security guards weren't fools. Even a fool wouldn't want to be cut a few times; the feeling of having one's skin broken was terrifying!
"Then why are you standing there doing nothing? If you don't act, my men will." Lin Mu smirked arrogantly.
The group stared at Lin Mu, hesitating for a moment before nodding quickly. "We'll go ahead and act."
Three security guards stood up. Although reluctant, getting roughed up was far better than being cut with a knife. Offending the Flying Dragon Gang was a thousand times worse than offending Yang Sanyuan!
"You, you can't lay a finger on me," Yang Sanyuan ordered the security guards, but he clearly lacked confidence.
"Brother Yuan, don't blame us. We have no choice!" said the security guards. Though Yang Sanyuan was their captain, they weren't stupid. If they ended up with cuts, their year's salary wouldn't cover the medical bills! Thinking it over, they had no choice but to go against their leader. At worst, they could find security jobs elsewhere. After all, being a security guard was one of the simplest jobs out there.
"So, you dare to lay a finger on me?" Yang Sanyuan said, glaring at the security guards resentfully.
"Brother Yuan, if we don't go after you, they'll go after us," the security guards replied awkwardly.
"Damn, didn't you say you'd follow me to hell and back? You can't even stand a little suffering?" Yang Sanyuan was angry. Usually, they'd do anything he asked, but in a critical moment, they were unreliable.
"Brother Yuan, we were just saying that casually! You show us a good time, and then we're willing to follow you anywhere. Since you haven't done that, there's no reason for us to." responded the security guards.
"Damn it." Yang Sanyuan cursed. He finally understood the saying, 'True friendship is revealed in adversity.' It's as true as could be!
Lin Mu found the scene amusing, waving his hand repeatedly. "Get on with it. If you don't, my men will."
"Brother Yuan, sorry, we're offending you, and we're not sticking with you anymore," said the security guards. Without giving Yang Sanyuan any chance to speak again, the three charged at him and started hitting him.
Although Yang Sanyuan was muscular, he had no fighting skills. Facing his attacking subordinates, he was defenseless. Yang Sanyuan got pummeled badly by the security guards. Eventually, one tripped him, making him fall with a thud, after which they kicked him mercilessly.
Yang Sanyuan couldn't fight back, only hugging his head and screaming miserably, while the security guards continued kicking him ruthlessly. After about ten minutes, Lin Mu finally stopped them; if he hadn't, Yang Sanyuan might not have survived!
The poor Yang Sanyuan lay on the ground, only able to moan, lacking even the strength to scream!
Lin Mu glanced at the beat-up Yang Sanyuan, covered in footprint bruises and blood on his face. His pathetic state couldn't be worse.
"Alright, take him to the hospital. If you don't want to, just toss him on the street." Lin Mu directed the security guards.
Relieved, the security guards quickly nodded, picked Yang Sanyuan up, and hurriedly left the room. Of course, Yang Sanyuan wouldn't need to pay for the car repairs; it would count as compensation for his medical bills.
Having dealt with Yang Sanyuan, Lin Mu thought of the Chief Police Officer. If she knew he was back and didn't inform her, she'd definitely be furious! Glancing at the time, she should be finishing work soon.
He made a call excitedly, "Hey, Chief Police Officer, I missed you terribly!"
The Chief Police Officer paused, then recognized it was Lin Mu, the clown since no one but him or that comedian Feng Gong would ever greet people with "I missed you terribly!"
"You bastard, is that you?" The Chief Police Officer asked nonchalantly.
"Hey, who other than me would dare to bother you? What's wrong? Haven't been around you enough for you to forget my charming voice?" Lin Mu grinned.
Upon hearing Lin Mu's irritating voice, the Chief Police Officer angrily retorted, "You scoundrel! Only calling now? I thought you were dead!"
"Uh… I've been thinking of you! My phone broke, so I got a new SIM card. The moment I returned to Wancheng, I called you! You're my first contact!" Lin Mu quickly flattered her, knowing he couldn't afford to make her angry. Her temper was in proportion to her chest, astonishingly large.
"Lies, did you really contact me as soon as you got back?" The Chief Police Officer questioned sternly.
"Of course, who else but you? Don't misinterpret my good intentions!" Lin Mu spoke sincerely but felt rather guilty inside.
After hearing this, the Chief Police Officer surprisingly calmed down and in a softer tone said, "That's more like it, I guess you still have some conscience."
"Haha, not just some! Quoting the East, my conscience is grand!" Lin Mu secretly relaxed, relieved. But this overly cautious demeanor stressed him more than dealing with the East Asian Jujutsu Association!
"Alright, I'm working overtime. I'll be home in about half an hour," the Chief Police Officer said. She originally planned to work two more hours, but since Lin Mu had returned, she decided to head back early. After all, she missed her old flame quite a bit!
"C'mon… Chief Police Officer, does this mean once I get back you start working overtime?" Lin Mu grumbled helplessly.
"Be grateful. There's a lot going on lately. If you hadn't come back, I'd work overtime for two hours," she said.
