Chapter 1085 - 1084: A Mother’s Touch
Mrs. Hastings is very relieved, this is good.At least Fiona still has a friend by her side now.
"It’s good to have a strong relationship, Nia Mitchell really cares, taking such good care of you and chatting with you. Isn’t she supposed to be working?"
Mrs. Hastings has learned a little about Nia Mitchell over the past couple of days.
"Yes."
Fiona smiles and sends Nia Mitchell a message.
"This morning, the nanny at home just made some old hen chicken soup, very nutritious, here, you should drink a little."
Mrs. Hastings ladles a small bowl of chicken soup from the thermos.
"The doctor said your body is weak now, so you should not consume too much nourishment at once, it has to be gradual, so just drink a little."
Speaking, she brings the chicken soup over.
"I can do it myself."
Fiona immediately reaches out to take it.
"You’re the patient now, how can I let you do it?"
Mrs. Hastings looks at her reproachfully, then sits down in front of her with a touch of heartache, gently stirring the bowl of chicken soup with a spoon.
"A woman’s body must be properly nurtured, look at how thin you are now, your complexion isn’t good either."
In her ear, Mrs. Hastings’s reproachful but kind voice fills the air, and the usually bold Fiona finds her eyes welling up.
So much has happened lately.
She has been gritting her teeth and slowly bearing it alone.
Before, she could remain strong and ignore everything, and still tell herself to be brave, to fight for herself.
But when she heard someone caring about her, she couldn’t hold back, feeling very wronged.
Tears quickly welled up and started to fall.
"Why are you crying again? Are you feeling uncomfortable somewhere?"
Seeing her cry, Mrs. Hastings is immediately filled with worry, putting down the chicken soup and pulling out a tissue to hand over.
Fiona, with tear-blurred eyes, shakes her head and sits on the hospital bed, hardly managing to stop the tears.
"No, I’m not uncomfortable."
She speaks up quickly to reassure Mrs. Hastings.
Seeing Fiona say she isn’t uncomfortable, Mrs. Hastings withdraws her hand from pressing the bedside bell.
"Then what’s the matter?"
Mrs. Hastings asks.
Fiona, with red eyes, looks at Mrs. Hastings.
"Seeing how good you are to me, how much you care about me, made me think of my mom."
After she speaks, the tears fall again.
"Oh dear, silly child, I thought it was something serious. If you miss your mom, tell me, I’ll have my husband send a car to bring her over."
Fiona shakes her head, reaching for the tissue to wipe her tears.
"My mom passed away when I was ten."
Though she had been crying earlier, she now says this with a smile on her face.
She has been very strong.
But when talking about her mother’s death, she conceals her emotions well.
"Poor dear, from now on, I will be your mom. No matter where your path leads or what decisions you make, I will be your mom."
Mrs. Hastings, upon hearing her words, feels her heart soften.
She reaches out to hug Fiona sitting on the hospital bed, then wipes her tears.
"Child, those things are in the past. From now on, my husband and I will be your parents, your support, making sure no one can bully you."
The Hastings Family certainly has the strength to shake up Capital Town.
Fiona nods repeatedly, choked with emotion and unable to speak.
