Chapter 206: My God! That’s a Man! No… a Deity!
Chapter 206: My God! That’s a Man! No… a Deity!
The Hades shut down its engines, drifting under the pull of gravity as it orbited a cerulean world below.
Roya withdrew his spiritual perception from the Warp, his expression grave as he gazed down upon the beautiful blue planet.
On the Warp projection chart, a vast spiritual projection—large as a mountain peak—loomed over the planet's corresponding position.
That meant a terrifying existence was lurking upon the seemingly calm and peaceful world.
Could it be that the ancient relics on this planet had already been claimed by that being?
Imu reported,
"My lord, the preliminary scans are complete. No signs of advanced civilization detected. The natives remain at the primitive tribal stage, still farming with stone tools. Their civilization is extremely backward."
Roya gave a faint nod. It was his first time encountering a being with such an immense spiritual projection. To avoid provoking it, he refrained from scanning directly with his perception, and instead relied only on the Hades' energy sensors for a rough sweep.
The results, however, were far from encouraging.
Imu continued,
"My lord, no biological weapons detected on the surface. No traces of bio-metal seed implantation among the natives either."
"However… their genes show clear signs of deliberate engineering—granting them extraordinary adaptability and remarkable potential."
"In fact, in terms of latent potential, these natives far surpass the human stock of both Pirate Star and Oceanus Star."
Roya frowned.
"Then why is their civilization progressing so slowly? Why hasn't the Silent King's brood turned this place into a resource world? Or… did they come here already, but fail in their transformation attempts?"
Imu shook his head.
"I cannot answer that, my lord. But I am certain this planet hides some great secret."
"Therefore, I request permission to lead an elite squad down for direct contact and study of the natives—to uncover this secret!"
"If we can take control of this planet, we could rapidly develop it into the finest soldier-breeding world, swiftly replenishing the shortage in our psionic corps."
Roya shook his head.
"No. I'll go myself. Whatever is hiding down there is beyond your ability to handle. I only hope my suspicion is wrong—that the Necrons weren't driven away by that thing."
Imu then added,
"My lord, the research division has cracked the key to portable teleportation beacons. With single-soldier devices, we can now open a small warp-gate for brief periods—current effective range, one million kilometers."
Roya nodded.
"Good. Keep the Hades in orbit. If that being proves hostile, we'll withdraw immediately through teleportation and avoid direct confrontation."
Imu said again,
>"My lord, to ensure smoother assimilation of this world, I suggest that when you descend, you present yourself in a manner befitting religious awe. Our scans show the natives are steeped in primitive worship—using faith to command them will be the simplest and most effective method."
Roya gave the faintest nod, then leapt downwards, sending a spiritual transmission to the Mythic Squad and the corps commanders.
By the time he reached the deck of the Hades, the two squads—ten men in all—were assembled.
With a brief nod, Roya led the way, vaulting from the deck and plunging toward the blue world below.
The others followed in formation, two squads of five guarding his flanks.
Eleven figures pierced the atmosphere like meteors, leaving blazing streaks across the sky.
At last, Kaido could no longer hold back, sending a psionic message to Whitebeard:
"Old friend… can we really survive crossing the void of space without powered armor?"
Whitebeard chuckled.
"For us, perhaps not. But Roya? Don't be surprised—he can do anything. Because he is Roya."
Roya caught their private exchange with his spiritual sense but only smiled silently.
His Constitution attribute had nearly reached the ten-thousand threshold; his flesh rivaled the void-born creatures described in Star God records. Passing unprotected through cosmic vacuum was trivial to him.
The friction of atmospheric re-entry was nothing—it felt no different than taking a stroll.
From the Hades, Imu's voice came via the ship-soul's link:
"My lord, the two largest native tribes are at war. This would be the perfect moment for you to manifest a miracle. I have fired a psionic beacon to guide your descent."
Roya glanced at the glowing marker. On a plain below, two armies—about ten thousand warriors each—were locked in brutal charge.
Primitive, bloody combat was about to erupt.
With a thought, Roya cloaked himself in a mantle of spiritual power. To outside eyes, his body shone with a faint golden radiance, stirring instinctive reverence and worship in all who beheld him.
He shifted course, diving toward the battlefield.
Just as the two tribal armies were about to clash, a golden streak blazed down from the heavens, followed by ten burning meteors trailing fire.
The natives, with their limited understanding, could not comprehend such a sight.
They had seen falling stars before—but a golden one? Even the oldest tribal sages had never heard of such a wonder.
Battle was forgotten. Enemies stood side by side, gazing upward, spellbound.
At last, a keen-eyed archer shouted in disbelief:
"By the heavens! That's a man! No… a God!"
Before his words had faded, Roya descended in a halo of golden light, his image seared into the eyes and minds of all.
"I told you! The gods created us in their own image!"
One man dropped his weapon, raised his arms, and fell to his knees in worship.
That act sparked a chain reaction. Soon, the warriors of both tribes—more than twenty thousand in all—cast aside their blades, knelt en masse, and chanted prayers.
As they prostrated themselves, Roya felt his spirit tremble.
Without meditation, without effort, his perception bridged into the Warp.
Thin, silken strands of energy—weak, yet ceaseless—flowed from every direction, merging into his spiritual projection.
