Chapter 9 I want to fight!
Chapter 9 I want to fight!
"Are you going too?" Li Ang asked.
"I'm worried." She stared intently at Li Ang. "And you seem a bit strange."
Li Ang immediately tensed up, but his face remained expressionless. "This is my first time killing someone, I haven't recovered yet."
This reason was perfectly valid, and the other party couldn't find any fault with it, so they put aside their doubts and said, "Don't worry. You'll get used to it once you officially become a believer."
I'm used to your grandma's head!
Li Ang cursed inwardly, but put on an honored smile and said, "Really? I can't wait."
The four of them went upstairs and returned to the detective's room.
During this time, Li Ang also used his ability to glance at the prompts on the two black-robed men, which showed that they were just ordinary believers with no abilities.
He pushed open the door, stepped aside, and said, "The body is inside."
Two men in black robes went in first, followed by the woman.
Li Ang was the last to enter the room. He closed the door and quietly locked it from the inside, trying not to make any noise.
The room was dark, with the curtains drawn tightly, and only the bamboo lamp on the wall emitted a dim light.
Charlotte lay quietly on the bed, her long white hair spread out on the pillow, her chest covered in dark red, making her look like a corpse.
"Why are her eyes closed?" the woman asked, puzzled.
She remembered that when she first saw this woman, her eyes were wide open in death. Why were they closed now? And her posture had changed; her hands were crossed in front of her chest.
"I did it. After all, it's a bit creepy to have her staring at me like that."
"I see." The woman didn't think much of it and instead directed two of her men to approach Charlotte.
At that moment, taking advantage of the fact that the three of them had their backs to him, Li Ang clenched his right hand in mid-air, and the black blade materialized in his palm.
Without hesitation, he plunged a knife into the lower back of the black-robed man closest to him.
The blade pierced through the fabric and flesh, exiting directly from the opponent's abdomen.
The man in the black robe let out a short, muffled groan, then collapsed to the ground, blood gushing from his wounds and spreading a dark red stain on the carpet.
Another man in black robes turned around abruptly, instinctively reaching for the weapon at his waist, but unexpectedly Charlotte on the bed suddenly sat up.
The other person, holding a pistol, pulled the trigger directly into his chest!
The man in black robes didn't have Li Ang's reaction speed. He was shot and forced back several steps, spitting out a mouthful of blood before collapsing weakly to the ground.
The whole process happened almost in an instant; the woman stood in the center of the room, her face deathly pale.
"You...you're not dead!? But that's impossible!"
I've confirmed that the other person isn't breathing, so why is this guy still standing in front of me?
"Dead, then alive again," Charlotte said calmly, the gun still pointed at her. "Is that strange?"
Li Ang, holding a knife, stood between the other person and the door, blocking her only escape route.
"Do you know what you're doing? Lord Hughes won't let you get away with this! The Primal Lord won't let you get away with this!"
"The Primal Lord?" Charlotte laughed dismissively. "Your so-called Primal Lord is nothing more than an ancient evil god sealed underground. It can't even break its own seal, so what makes it think it won't let others go?"
Charlotte took a step back. "This woman is yours. I'll watch the door for you."
Li Ang tried to kill the woman as quickly as possible, so he swung his knife down again.
Unexpectedly, the other party stretched out his hands and caught his blade with his bare hands!
"Catch a blade barehanded?" Li Ang's eyes widened.
Is this woman that strong?
"It's because of her ability," Charlotte explained considerately. "Her ability provides a certain boost to physical strength. However, since it's not a combat-type ability, the boost is limited. I believe you can handle it."
"You make it sound so easy!" Li Ang gritted his teeth and forcefully drew his knife.
The black knife slid out of the opponent's hand, and dark red patterns appeared on the blade. Li Ang felt a force surge from the blade into his arm.
Without hesitation, he swung his knife again.
The woman dodged Li Ang's attack by retreating repeatedly, then took out the badge she had taken out earlier, held it in front of her, and began to chant some unintelligible language.
The sound didn't sound like human language; just listening to it made him feel nauseous.
"Nakert...Ia...Sabuto...Nia..."
These words seemed to possess some kind of special power, causing Li Ang to pause for a moment.
"Watch out!" Charlotte's voice came from behind, tinged with caution. "She's going to use dark magic!"
"I know. I'm not blind!" Regaining his senses, Li Ang rushed forward in one stride.
I must kill her before she finishes her spell.
But it was too late.
The eye pattern on the badge suddenly cracked open, revealing a grayish-white pupil inside, from which dozens of tentacles extended.
Pitch black as ink, covered with a reflective slime, each one about the thickness of two fingers, lunged at Li Ang.
The air was filled with a fishy, foul smell, like rotting seafood mixed with moldy soil.
Looking at this thing, Li Ang felt a chill run down his spine.
Especially these tentacles writhing in the air, with suckers on their surface and tiny teeth seemingly growing inside them, looked particularly grotesque.
He twisted his body to the limit, a tentacle flew past his cheek, leaving a burning wound, while another wrapped around his arm, the sticky sensation almost making him throw the knife away.
But instead of throwing it away, he pulled hard, shaking the tentacle off his arm, and at the same time, he slashed horizontally with his black blade, severing the other two tentacles that were reaching towards him at the root.
Black liquid gushed from the broken surface, splashing onto the carpet and making a hissing, corrosive sound.
The woman's face turned extremely ugly; she clearly hadn't expected Li Ang to possess such fighting power.
"Who...who exactly are you...?"
This guy in front of me is clearly just an ordinary person, so why does he suddenly possess such immense power? And why can that knife damage the tentacles I summoned?
This is impossible!
However, her question was destined to remain unanswered.
The black blade traced a perfect arc in the air, slicing across her neck.
A fine head flew up.
The blood gushing from the fracture even splattered onto the wall.
The tentacles she summoned disappeared, and the badge fell to the ground, shattering into pieces.
"Excellent." Charlotte walked over, glanced at the corpse on the ground, her eyes full of admiration. "Quick reaction. Accurate judgment. Are you sure this is your first time killing someone?"
"I'm pretty sure." Li Ang exhaled, sheathed his knife, and wiped the blood from his face. "Even though I've already killed several today."
"You'll get used to it," Charlotte gave the same answer as the woman. "Right now, there's a group of cultists downstairs waiting for us to deal with them."
A series of noisy footsteps came from the stairwell, clearly indicating that the heretics downstairs had noticed something was wrong.
The rooms here are perfectly soundproof, so I don't know how these people found out. Could it be because this woman is using dark magic?
"Assistant, how many do you think you can take on?"
"I'm going to take on ten!"
At this moment, Li Ang suddenly felt incredibly confident!
These people aren't anything special.
