Chapter 130 Conflict on the Street
Lynch led Harry into the downward elevator, whose walls were transparent, offering an unobstructed view of the outside world.
As the elevator slowly descended, Harry saw a large group of people gathered in the lobby on the first floor—oddly enough, almost all of them were witches, and most of them were about the same age as Mrs. Weasley.
In the center of the crowd were several banners, tables, and large photographs. Due to the downward angle, Harry couldn't see the faces in the photos clearly, but he could barely make out that the people in the photos had dazzling blond hair.
The elevator smoothly arrived at the first floor, where the surging crowd immediately blocked Harry's view.
He followed Lin Qi out of the Stone Tower Chamber of Commerce and waited on the street outside.
A few minutes later, Harry saw a wizard wearing the Stone Tower Merchant Guild robes jogging down the street.
The sorcerer ran to Lynch's side and whispered something to him.
After listening, Lin Qi waved his hand, and the male wizard took a step back, bowed, and then went into the stone tower.
Lynch looked at Harry: "The Weasleys are over there on the street, talking to someone. Let's go find them."
"Okay," Harry nodded.
The two of them walked in the direction the man had come from.
After walking for a while, Harry suddenly heard a commotion ahead. He heard two familiar voices shouting at the same time:
"Beat him up, Dad!"
It's George and Fred's voices!
Harry's heart skipped a beat. He looked up and saw a large crowd gathered in front of the store.
He couldn't help but quicken his pace, pushing his way through the crowd.
"Excuse me, let me pass," he apologized as he squeezed past a wizard.
His vision suddenly opened up, and the scene before him stunned him. Mr. Weasley was wrestling with a wizard, rolling around on the ground with their wands lying on the side. It looked just like a fight in the streets of Muggles.
"No, Arthur, please don't!"
Mrs. Weasley called out anxiously from the side, while Ron and the twin brothers cheered for their father.
Just as Harry was dumbfounded, a gentle force parted the crowd, and Lynch walked to Harry's side.
He glanced at the two male wizards in the arena, pulling each other's hair and choking each other, and his brows furrowed slightly.
Lin Qi pointed a finger: "Soul-reaping ritual."
Several invisible ropes shot out like lightning, wrapping around the two men on the ground and binding them so they could not move.
The next instant, the two were lifted into the air, each hanging diagonally in mid-air, looking like two wriggling caterpillars.
"I apologize for interrupting your 'communication.' However, such a public confrontation is extremely undignified. Please calm down."
With that, Lynch led Harry into the circle.
"Harry!"
Upon seeing Harry, Ron screamed and, ignoring his father who was still hanging in mid-air, rushed over.
He gave Harry a big hug, then grabbed his arm and asked, "Where have you been? Your parents were terrified when they didn't see you come out of the fireplace!"
"Are you alright? Ron said you're missing, and we've been looking for you everywhere." Another female voice rang out.
Harry turned around and saw that it was Hermione.
Her figure had been blocked by the Weasley twins, so she hadn't seen her for a moment.
"Sir, could you please put my husband down? He should calm down now."
Mrs. Weasley walked up to Lynch, bowed, and said somewhat reservedly.
As the daughter of the Prewitt family and the current matriarch of the Weasley family, her knowledge is unlike that of ordinary wizards.
Although the wizard in front of him had come with Harry, he was dressed in an exquisite suit that was completely different from a wizard's robe, and his demeanor in every gesture indicated that he was no ordinary person.
Therefore, she dared not be negligent in her words and actions.
Lin Qi's gaze swept over the two people hanging in the air and saw that they had both stopped struggling.
"Of course." A warm smile appeared on his face. "I'll put them down right away."
He snapped his fingers, and the invisible ropes formed by the Soul-Snatching Curse laid the two men on the ground before they vanished.
Mr. Weasley and another wizard stood up from the ground.
"Arthur, are you alright?"
Mrs. Weasley rushed to her husband, brushing the dust off him as she asked him with concern.
Meanwhile, Lynch greeted the wizard who was fighting with Mr. Weasley:
"We meet again, Mr. Malfoy."
Lucius Malfoy—the wizard who had wrestled with Mr. Weasley in the street—with a slightly bruised eye, replied coldly, "We meet again, Mr. Lynch."
He had met Lynch at a previous board meeting.
Lynch was recommended by Reggie to join the team. To ensure Lynch's successful joining, Reggie even spoke to him, asking him to smooth over the resistance from the pure-blood families.
This means that Lynch and Reggie are in cahoots.
In other words, this guy named Jim Lynch is very likely one of the hangman's men!
Thinking of this, Lucius felt a pang of anxiety.
Although the binding spell just now didn't exude the same deadly aura as that night, the style of the invisible rope was clearly identical to that of the hangman.
This man's relationship with the executioner was probably far deeper than he imagined.
Lucius picked up his cane from the ground and said to Mr. Weasley, "We'll meet again... Weasley!"
After saying that, he grabbed his son and quickly left the crowd without looking back.
Throughout the entire process, he did not glance at Lin Qi once more.
As the conflict came to an end, the crowd of onlookers gradually dispersed.
Lynch watched Lucius Malfoy's figure disappear into the crowd before turning around.
Beside him, Harry was telling Ron and Hermione about his unexpected experience of being sent to the Stone Tower Merchant Guild by Floo Powder.
Mr. Weasley's lip was cut, and Mrs. Weasley was using a handkerchief to clean the small amount of blood from it.
The other Weasley children stood in the middle, listening to Harry's story while glancing at their father with concern every now and then.
"I'm very sorry for what I did just now. I hope you don't mind, as it was to separate you from the conflict."
Lynch said to Mr. Weasley.
"Not at all, on the contrary, I should thank you." Mr. Weasley waved his hand. "Fighting in the street, even with someone like Malfoy, is far too frivolous and improper. Thank you for stepping in and separating us in time."
Lynch nodded. "Thank you for your understanding. I haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Jim Lynch, and I'm currently a professor of Magical Studies at Hogwarts. I'm also Harry's uncle."
