Chapter 61 Chaotic Battle!
Chapter 61 Chaotic Battle!
The camp welcomed new guests: Andrei and four Holy Hammer nuns.
Badar held the shotgun, hesitated for a moment, and then put it on the ground.
Their firepower was insufficient to penetrate the solid steam armor; the bullets from their shotguns would probably only scratch the paint.
We are at their mercy, like fish on a chopping board.
But just then, a figure lifted the curtain and appeared before everyone.
Simon, with his backpack on, calmly looked around, his gaze sweeping over every face filled with fear.
Klein's deep blue eyes were filled with worry. He wanted to go up and say something to Simon, but Simon just waved his hand, leaving him standing there.
He walked steadily across the camp and came to Andrei and the five steam-powered armors.
Steam billowed from the armor's ventilation holes, and the arms began to gather strength. Five pairs of eyes behind the peepholes were fixed on Simon. If he made even the slightest movement, they would mercilessly swing the Discipline Hammer, letting him experience the Iron Emperor's punishment.
Andrei gripped the harpoon given as a gift tightly, his brown eyes blazing with anger, but he suppressed it and spoke slowly:
"You lied to me, Simon. I believed you when you told me you blew up the flesh that was evidence of the crime."
As he spoke, he handed over the harpoon he was holding.
Simon took the brand-new harpoon.
The harpoon was made by Bell, and Andrei offered many suggestions for improvement. The remade harpoon completely avoided the defects of the old harpoon, shortened the overall length by several centimeters, widened the blade, optimized the crossbow bolt part, and made it stronger and more durable with new materials.
Andrei closed his eyes tightly, then slowly opened them again: "It's not too late, everything is still possible! As long as you hand over the flesh of the incriminating evidence and Elphis."
His hand reached for his waist, and the nuns behind him stood ready.
If Simon utters even half a word of dissent, they will still attack him without mercy.
"Alright, I'll give you the flesh as evidence," Simon finally replied.
Under Andrei's tense gaze, he put his backpack on the ground and took out a heavy cloth bag stained with blood.
"The flesh, the evidence of the Hungry Angel's sins, is right here..."
Simon was thinking of opening the cloth bag and letting Andrei check it.
But at that moment!
boom--
A sudden bullet interrupted Simon's movements, causing his hand to slip and the blood-stained cloth bag to fall to the ground and roll into the bushes beside him.
Several more bullets were fired from the bushes, targeting Simon. Fortunately, he reacted quickly and dodged in time. Another shot was fired straight at Andrei and the nun.
The bullet struck the nun's sturdy armor, sparking a few flecks. A figure emerged from the bushes, picked up the cloth bag from the ground, and ran into the depths of the forest without looking back. Andrei saw the man's clothes and recognized the cunning smile beneath the iron mask!
"Elphis!" Andrei's roar echoed through the forest.
A massive burst of steam erupted from his right Achilles tendon, propelling his body forward almost like a catapult launch! The nuns followed closely behind with heavy footsteps.
But one of the nuns didn't catch up with her companion; instead, she turned to look in Simon's direction.
In the forest, mortal enemies are engaged in a fierce chase.
The distance is gradually decreasing, three steps, two steps...
"Come back here!" Andrei's roar was laced with a scalding heat.
With a sudden outstretched left hand, he grabbed Elphis's collar tightly, his five fingers digging into the fabric, pulling him backward!
Losing his balance, Elphis fell to the ground.
Andrei straddled Elphis, his knees pressing down on Elphis's arms, his left hand on Elphis's chest, his right fist raised high...
The heat dissipation vents on the metal arm suddenly opened, and steam spewed out from the joint gaps.
The iron fist slammed down, but Elphis turned his head to dodge, splashing mud that covered half of his iron mask.
At the same time, Elfis' right fist suddenly came out from under Andrei's knee and struck Andrei's chin hard from below!
Andrei's head snapped back, but he didn't fall. He looked down at Elphis, his eyes burning with intense rage.
His right fist rose high again, instantly gathering power. The hydraulic device of the metal arm emitted a dull hum, and the fist crashed down like a heavy hammer, slamming into Elphis's cheekbone. The sound of bone cracking was very crisp, like breaking a dry twig.
Elphis's head tilted to one side, blood gushing from the corner of his mouth and trickling down the bottom edge of his mask.
The iron fist was raised high once more. If this punch were to fall again, Elphis would die under the iron mask, his head turning into minced flesh beneath it.
"Any last words, Elphis..." Andrei asked through gritted teeth.
"Stop talking nonsense." Elphis spat out a mouthful of bloody phlegm. "Stop babbling like a sissy and get to work!"
"This punch was for the Empire, for the people of the Blazing Sun Empire who were almost harmed by you... and for Simon! You shouldn't have led him astray!"
The metal prosthetic limb unleashed unprecedented power, and he was about to end the life of this cave raider.
But at that moment, something unexpected happened!
"You just called out that bastard's name, didn't you!"
An angry roar echoed through the forest, and a tall, battered figure suddenly pounced from the side, slamming Andrei into a tree trunk beside him.
Faldor, a heretic who believed in the Mother of Abundance, had just climbed out of the Great Cavern and was following the scents in the forest when he heard Andrei's shout. Without hesitation, he came to follow the sound.
Sharp bone spikes were pressed against Andrei's neck. Faldor had completely lost his former killer elegance. Now his eyes were bloodshot. Repeated failures had turned him into a beast. Now he only wanted to find the sinner named Simon, kill him, and avenge his humiliation!
"Tell me where Simon is!" Faldor roared, his eyes wide with fury.
"And who are you?"
Before Andrei could even process what was happening, the unfamiliar man before him had already gotten up from the ground and staggered away.
"Damn it, are the Cave Thieves still collaborating with heretics?"
Andrei hated the cave raiders, but he hated heretics even more!
Ignoring the bone spurs threatening his neck, he clenched his fist and slammed it into Faldor's abdomen, then kicked him away. Faldor staggered back in pain, while Andrei, burning with rage, continued his pursuit!
With an iron fist tightly gripping the heretic's neck, Andrei held his shoulders and pointed his head at a huge, ancient tree with deep furrows.
Thump, thump, thump—
Faldor's head, under his control, kept slamming against the tree trunk!
His nose was shattered, his teeth were knocked out, his eyeballs burst, and his skull was shattered! His cheeks rubbed against the rough bark of the tree, splattering large amounts of blood and flesh with each blow. Andrei did not stop. He completely ignored Fador's desperate struggles and relentlessly controlled his head to smash against the tree trunk!
"Go to hell!"
Unable to contain his anger, Andrei unleashed it all on this heretic. He grabbed Fador's neck again and slammed his bloodied face against the tree with all his might!
Taking a deep breath, Andrei abandoned him and continued his pursuit of Elphis.
