Chapter 65 Imperial Academy Magic Classroom?
Chapter 65 Imperial Academy Magic Classroom?
The humming from deep within the fortress continued.
It was like the heartbeat of some enormous creature, pounding dully on everyone's eardrums.
The once turbulent, inky abyss mist was retreating at a visible speed, as if an invisible hand was forcibly pulling it back. The dark purple patterns on the stone wall gradually lost their luster, and the seeping black blood congealed into dark brown scabs. The nauseating smell of rotten sulfur in the air was so faint that it was almost undetectable.
Everyone was stunned.
Their grip on their weapons tightened slightly as they warily watched the end of the passage revealed as the fog dissipated.
There was no altar as expected, no ferocious monsters, and no one else in sight.
There was only an ordinary wooden door painted off-white.
A faded bronze plaque hung on the wooden door, with a line of words engraved on it in the Imperial Common Language: Law School, Year 3 (2).
"What...what is this?"
One of the students swallowed hard, his voice filled with disbelief, "How could something like this be in Blue Dragon Fortress?"
Karen frowned, and the aura of flames around her flared up again. She slowly walked to the wooden door and reached out to push it open.
"etc."
Lin Qi suddenly spoke up, stopping him.
His expression was solemn, yet somewhat strange.
Something's not right.
Lynch whispered, "There seems to be something strange in there."
Catherine walked to his side, gripped her sapphire longsword tightly, and asked warily, "What did you sense?"
Lynch shook his head. "But we have no other way out. The passage behind us is blocked by collapsed rocks; we can only go forward."
Everyone turned around, and sure enough, the escape route had disappeared.
"My goodness, Mr. Horton is so perceptive."
Eve covered her mouth and whispered to Sera, who shrugged noncommittally.
At this moment, Instructor Karen stepped forward, touched the 'classroom door' with one hand, closed her eyes as if sensing something. Lin Qi keenly sensed that the other party's spiritual power extended outwards, as if trying to explore what was inside.
But it was clearly blocked.
A moment later, Karen opened her eyes, shook her head at Catherine and the others, and said, "I can't detect it. It's blocked by a powerful force, far stronger than me."
"Could that blue dragon still be alive? Was what happened before just an illusion?"
Catherine guessed, then turned her gaze to Lynch, her tone softening, "Horton, what do you think?"
Lin Qi seemed not to hear, still deep in thought.
"Mr. Houghton?"
Eve carefully tugged at Lynch's sleeve.
"what?"
Lin Qi snapped out of his daze and noticed everyone's gaze.
"I think that since there is no way back, we can only move forward. Moreover, a mage like Baal cannot possibly pull off such a scene change. It is most likely that it is still that blue dragon. I think that a legendary creature of the lawful faction should not make things too difficult for us."
Everyone nodded instinctively.
"However, whatever you see later, don't believe it easily, and don't act rashly. This could very well be a test from that legendary creature."
"Mr. Horton, you're just like our Dean."
Eve whispered to Sera again.
"I'm a thief, I'll go in first and scout ahead."
After saying that, Lin Qi no longer hesitated and reached out to push open the wooden door.
squeak-
The old wooden door let out a piercing groan and slowly opened inward.
A familiar smell, a mixture of ink and old paper, wafted towards him. Lin Qi was the first to step inside, and the sight before him made his pupils shrink slightly.
This really is a classroom.
In the spacious and bright space, dozens of wooden desks and chairs were neatly arranged, with messy graffiti carved on the tabletops. In the corner, there was a bookshelf full of magic books, and the blackboard was clean and tidy, with a few lines of magic formulas written on it in white chalk.
Sunlight streamed through the windows, casting dappled shadows on the floor. Outside, one could even see Imperial College's iconic white clock tower and vast green lawns.
Everything was unbelievably real.
Eve, who followed behind, gasped at the sight before her, covering her mouth and widening her eyes in astonishment, "Oh my god! This...this is our law school classroom! This is the classroom where I took my rune exam last month!"
These words were like a thunderclap, exploding in everyone's ears.
All the students of the Imperial Academy were stunned. They looked around, their faces filled with disbelief.
"It really is! Look at that bookshelf, the third book on the left on the third shelf, 'Basic Rune Theory,' has a torn corner; that's from when I accidentally dropped it last time!"
"And that podium, there's a dent in the corner, it was damaged during last year's college celebration!"
"The clock tower outside the window... yes, that's our academy's clock tower! How did it get here?"
The group exchanged bewildered glances, a chill creeping into their hearts.
This is Blue Dragon Fortress, hundreds of kilometers away from the Imperial Academy, a lair of the Abyss Cultists. How could an Imperial Academy classroom suddenly appear out of thin air? And it's the very classroom where they have their classes every day?
That's so weird.
It was so eerie it sent chills down my spine.
Can spatial magic achieve this level of skill?
Karen walked to the window and reached out to push it open, but found that the window was as if it had been welded shut and wouldn't budge. He knocked on the glass hard, making a dull sound; the glass was as hard as steel.
"Enclosed space".
Karen said in a deep voice.
"Someone's mental space must have been invaded, and the blue dragon created this scene based on their memories."
"But what was his purpose in doing this?"
Eve asked, holding the magic book.
"Should we try to sabotage this place? Instructor Karen's explosive magic is quite powerful, isn't it possible?"
A student from Imperial College suggested this.
"Don't act impulsively!"
Lin Qi spoke up to stop them, "I've seen that blue dragon. It was badly injured. If we forcibly disrupt the spatial magic and worsen its injuries, we might perish in the spatial storm."
Karen frowned and nodded in agreement with Lynch's point, but she still cautiously scanned her surroundings, ready to deal with any unexpected situation.
Just then.
Ring ring—
A crisp school bell suddenly rang in the classroom.
The ringtone wasn't loud, but it reached everyone's ears clearly, carrying a strange penetrating power that made everyone's heart skip a beat.
Immediately afterwards, the wooden door behind them slammed shut with a loud bang.
A cold, emotionless, mechanical voice echoed through the classroom:
"Class time is here. Please return to your seats immediately."
"I'll repeat myself: everyone, please return to your seats immediately."
No one moved.
Everyone gripped their weapons tightly, watching warily in the direction the sound came from, their backs pressed together, forming a defensive formation.
The mechanical voice received no response, and its tone gradually became more urgent:
"Warning! Please return to your seats immediately. Those who violate classroom discipline will be punished."
"Final warning! Return to your seat immediately!"
