Chapter 12 Conversation
Chapter 12 Conversation
Sana Minato frowned, then added a few sugar cubes before her expression returned to normal. Seeing this, Xie Mingmu also relaxed. It seemed he had been overthinking things. He immediately deleted the TV series; such melodramatic scenes didn't deserve to exist on his computer hard drive.
The two faced each other, and the atmosphere was somewhat awkward. Sana Minato looked at Xie Mingmu, seemingly lost in thought.
"You asked me to come here because there's something you want to talk about?" Xie Mingmu asked, bringing up the topic first.
"Are you Mina's ex-boyfriend?" Minatozaki Sana asked directly.
"Yes, but that's all in the past. I'm just a regular photographer's assistant at the company now, and that's all."
Sana Minato could tell Xie Mingmu wasn't being sincere. "You want to win Mina-chan back, don't you?"
Xie Mingmu hadn't expected Minatozaki Sana's words to be so direct, and he panicked somewhat: "Yes and no."
"Yes or no?"
"Yes!" Xie Mingmu readily admitted, which was also what he truly thought.
"So, how do you plan to win her back?" A glint flashed in Sana Minato's eyes, a terrifying glint in them, like a little fox who had just stolen a chicken. She was now preoccupied with gossip, forgetting her own purpose, though it wasn't entirely clear.
"What do you want from me?" Although Xie Mingmu was very honest about his feelings, he preferred to keep details about how he pursued her to himself, especially after seeing the expression on Minatozaki Sana's face. He didn't want to tell a gossipy woman like that.
"I'm here to help you."
"I don't believe it." Unsolicited kindness is always suspicious; Xie Mingmu didn't believe such a good thing could happen: a toad jumping around in the street?
"Believe it or not, answer my question: how do you plan to win Mina-chan back?"
Xie Mingmu hadn't expected his tactic of changing the subject to fail, so he decided to implement plan B: "I know you guys are idols, aren't you not allowed to date during your activities?"
Xie Mingmu decided to spout some nonsense. What he said made a lot of sense, but none of it actually answered Minatozaki Sana's question: "Peninsula's fans are all fickle, aren't they? You guys might change your image in a few years, and when that time comes, won't the fans stop worrying about your relationship...?"
Sana Minatozaki was a little confused by his words. What he said made perfect sense, but something still felt off, so she interrupted him, "So, what are you doing here in front of Mina-chan at this time?"
"Just keep her company; after all, this isn't the time to pursue her."
"Isn't this a very perverted form of surveillance?"
"You misunderstood me. If she has someone she likes by now..." Xie Mingmu had already thought about this. If Mingjing Nan really had someone else she liked, he would definitely let go. In this situation, the best thing would be to forget each other and go their separate ways.
What he couldn't forget was a strange breakup. Nothing bad had happened between them, but this doubt kept him on the edge of his seat and led him to the Peninsula. This allowed him to skip a grade and complete his studies in just two years.
Xie Mingmu spoke for a long time, and seeing that Minatozaki Sana didn't say anything, he continued, "So, I didn't expect anything to happen between us. It's been several years since we broke up, and our impressions of each other are still stuck in the past... So, have you ever been in a relationship?"
"Why are you asking this?" Minatozaki Sana asked, puzzled. She didn't know why he had suddenly brought up her.
"There are many kinds of love. There is love at first sight, love that grows over time, love that suddenly disappears, and love that slowly accumulates until the breakup."
Sana Minatosaki still didn't understand what Xie Mingmu was trying to say, and looked at him with a puzzled expression.
"I mean, my love with Mina started from being together and developed slowly, but when we broke up, it was like a tornado. Like a tornado, it blows and then it's gone. No one can stop that kind of rhythm. I can only be dragged along by her..."
"Wait a minute!" Sana Minatozaki was forced to use her native tongue by Xie Mingmu. "I just want to know how you plan to win back Mina, why are you saying such strange things? You're even spouting tornadoes!"
Sana was completely bewildered by Xie Mingmu's words and didn't understand why he was saying all this. "Can you tell me why you're here in a few words? Please, stop with the tornado nonsense!"
"What I mean is, I'm not in a hurry to resume my boyfriend-girlfriend relationship with Mina. You're both idols, so I can understand that love is just a shackle on you, and it will only hinder your group's rise. Therefore, I just want to be with her, watch over her, and talk to her occasionally. That would be enough for me."
Sana Minatozaki understood. She had initially thought he was a perverted stalker, but she hadn't expected him to be so carefree. She completely accepted him and even envied Mina Mina a little. It was amazing that someone liked her.
"Okay, I understand. Remember what you said today." Minatozaki Sana stood up, winked at Xie Mingmu, and said, "I'll put in a good word for you based on your performance in the future." After saying that, she left the coffee shop without looking back.
Xie Mingmu sat there speechless, increasingly exasperated. So what was she even here for? He recalled the information he'd read about her online—that she liked four-dimensional things? I think she is a four-dimensional person! She does things in a completely unconventional way.
Shaking his head, he stopped thinking about Sana Minatozaki's thoughts; he couldn't figure it out anyway. He took a taxi back to the hotel. He was still temporarily staying at the hotel, as he had to spend his days at JYP, so he could only move at night.
This is also very simple. Xie Mingmu didn't bring much stuff; a suitcase contained all his belongings. He had already contacted a classmate living in the Peninsula to help him find a place to live, and now he has finally found one.
Back at the hotel, he dragged his luggage, checked out, and headed straight for that place, which could now be considered his "home."
I have a good relationship with this classmate, so I just gave him the rent and he took care of all the procedures for me, so he didn't have to worry about anything.
To his surprise, this wasn't a residential building, but a detached house with a garden, though its location was somewhat remote. Opening the door revealed a rather messy interior.
Although Xie Mingmu wasn't a clean freak, he didn't like living in a dirty or messy environment. If time allowed, he would usually clean his place thoroughly. He glanced at his watch; it was getting late, but he still decided to clean up.
Actually, this house isn't very big, only about 100 square meters. We'll leave the second floor for now. I'll just take out the trash, mop the floor, and that'll be it. I'll hire a cleaning lady to do a thorough cleaning later.
After cleaning, Xie Mingmu drank some water, looked at the night sky outside the door, and enjoyed a moment of peace. Unfortunately, his cell phone rang again.
Xie Mingmu picked up his phone, saw the notification, and felt a headache coming on.
"Park Jiyeon (difficult to deal with)!"
