Chapter 52: Ch 52: Developing the Skills- Part 2By the time Zara and Ethan returned from their dungeon run, the scent of dinner filled the air.
Selene had spent the afternoon finalizing her re
She whispered to Orion.
Orion nodded quickly, his body tense as they watched the car doors open. Several figures stepped out, all wearing sharp, tailored suits.
Among them was a man with dark, slicked-back hair—his presence alone made Selene’s breath hitch.
Damien Ross
A high-ranking member of the family.
Selene gritted her teeth.
’Of all people... why him?’
That man had been incharge of the twin’s early day safety. If he was here, then it was highly likely that the twins were here as well. That was one of the worse news Selene had heard until now.
She could not meet the twins, under any circumstances.
Damien looked around the area, speaking to one of his subordinates. Though Selene couldn’t hear what he was saying, she could tell he was giving orders.
"What do we do?"
Orion whispered.
Selene took a deep breath.
"We wait."
Orion swallowed and nodded.
The two remained hidden, watching as the Vale family members moved toward the dungeon’s entrance.
Selene’s mind raced. If they were here, it meant that something was going on inside that dungeon. Something important enough for the Vale family to take notice.
’Did I miss something when I researched it?’
She had picked this dungeon because it was supposed to be safe. But if the Vale family was interested in it, that meant there was more to it than she had initially thought.
Her fingers tightened around Orion’s wrist, and she felt him tense beside her.
They had two options.
Either Stay hidden and leave. Forget about the dungeon and find another one later. Or, sneak inside anyway.
Neither option was ideal.
If they left, they would miss out on the training opportunity. But if they went inside... they might get caught. And getting caught by the Vale family was not an option.
Selene took a deep breath.
She needed to make a decision.
