Chapter 280: It Takes Only Two
Chapter 280: It Takes Only Two
After stepping out of the tent, Leon walked at a rhythmic pace, slowly reaching the front of the Undergod River. There he stood in a long silence, one filled with a sense of tranquility and dread.
"Are you serious?" A voice sounded from behind Leon as a figure much taller than him with broader shoulders appeared.
They were at a crossroads, but both options on the table were undesirable to Leon. He would not abandon his ambitions for the mediocrity of just following orders. This was not something his heart could bear.
"Of course I am. It won’t be long before the entire thing blows up in the region. I might as well start," Leon said while looking forward.
For the past couple of months, the warlock clans had been taking action all over the Undergod territory. However, they had only focused on powers with heretical structures guiding their leadership.
The strongest fighters that had been deployed in the open were at most peak level 3.
"It’s not just you though, you’ll need my help," the figure behind Leon said coldly, not understanding why Leon was going so far as to jeopardize their entire mission for this ’show.’
"Naturally. You were the one who gave me the advice of sweeping the river, after all," Leon smirked as he looked at Kang with the corner of his eye.
"Sigh, you’re troublesome. It’s no wonder the old man didn’t stick around," Kang sighed in exhaustion.@@@@
His pride would never let him watch Leon do this alone. After all, the kid was directly under him in terms of status, and Leon knew this.
"It’s good if you come with," Leon said calmly before turning around to walk in the direction of the moon. While he did so, Kang followed behind with his hands crossed behind his back.
....
A few hours later,
"I can’t believe we have to do this," one of the gang leaders that joined Leon’s Faceless Night group showed displeasure in his tone as they rode up a hill.
It was just too humongous for a Beast Actualization.
"Sigh, those two are crazy," Ken shook his head.
The moment he stepped foot in the camp, he understood what had happened here. And soon enough, the rest would too as they approached the center of the camp.
"Ohhh, you finally made it to the party?" An obnoxious and egotistical voice resounded from a table setting inside a turn-up tent.
"What happened here?" Ben was the first to come forward with a look of fear and caution.
The alliance camp had been set ablaze with so many bodies littering the ground, it looked like an army twice their size had blown through here overnight.
"What do you mean? Isn’t it obvious?" Leon asked coyly as if saying it was common sense.
However, it was not. An army of at least 12,000 to 14,000 people couldn’t just disappear like that. It was virtually impossible. Something big must have happened.
"Please enlighten us," Ben stared at Leon’s tattered clothes intently. He knew this guy had a plan, but he thought it would be some sort of reinforcement or something. But what was this?
Seeing Ben’s curiosity, Leon stood up and walked to his side before placing his arm on his shoulder.
"You don’t need a 10,000-man army to defeat another 10,000-man army. What you need is two extremely powerful men willing to commit the worst atrocities to achieve victory," Leon said loudly for everyone to hear. Then he turned back and walked to where Kang was seated and grabbed a cup of booze.
The alliance didn’t see it coming. They had no idea that a Dragon and a quasi-level 5 transcendent being were coming for them.
First, it was their leaders, then their infrastructure, and finally, they themselves.
The Faceless Night came and it went, but this time it let many go to warn the rest of how stupid an idea it was to mess with them.
